'True Lies' Star Omar Miller: Inside a Day in My Life
Just like True Lies’ Harry and Helen Tasker, actor Omar Miller’s life is anything but boring.
“I lean heavily into the artist aspect of my life,” Miller, 44, exclusively reveals in the new issue of Us Weekly. “I don’t necessarily have a routine.”
While the Ballers alum doesn’t live by a set day-to-day agenda, his work on True Lies is keeping him busy. “I’m running around bumping my gums telling everyone who’ll listen about it,” he quips to Us of promoting the CBS series.
The 8 Mile actor stars as Gib on True Lies, which premiered on CBS earlier this month. The TV drama — based on Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jamie Lee Curtis’ 1994 movie of the same name — follows unfulfilled housewife Helen Tasker (Ginger Gonzaga) after she discovers her husband, Harry Tasker (Steve Howey), is actually a spy. While attempting to save their marriage, Helen is recruited to join her spouse on a top-secret mission to save the world. Miller’s character, Albert “Gib” Gibson Jr., is the team’s No. 1 logistics specialist, who makes sure the team understands their duties on the mission.
“The show is based on the premise of the film, but then obviously, we’re making hours and hours of a television series so it mines the content a little bit more,” Miller said during a February appearance on CBS Los Angeles. “In the film, the climax is when Jamie Lee Curtis finds out that Arnold Schwarzenegger is a spy. Well, [in] our show that happens early and then what we have to deal with are the consequences of secrets coming out.”
He added at the time: “We are a super-spy secret agency and Steve Howey plays Harry, the stud of all studs [like the] Michael Jordan of spies, but he has a problem because he’s telling his wife some secret spy stuff that she doesn’t need to know. … Our show is escapism [because] the world is heavy right now, so this is a situation where you can tune out and enjoy some jokes and some butt-kicking going in.”
After filming scenes for True Lies, which airs new episodes on Wednesdays at 10 p.m., Miller enjoys chilling at home.

“Had an hour to kill [between work commitments], so I came home and played with my Akitas, who decided to stay home for the day,” the CSI: Miami alum jokes of his canine companions. “They’re quite the escape artists.”
